Comments

One of the important elements of guitar competitions is the judges comments. Aswell as an extensive comments sheet, each competitor will have the opportunity to discuss their playing with the judges.

Judging Criteria

The judging will be based on a points system. This is done too avoid too much focus is placed on issues such as incorrect nail shape or a scratchy sound. The emphasis of this competition will be on personality, does the performer say something with their performance. We want to encourage "artists" who are in the process of developing their own individual voice. Accordingly, points will be awarded in the following categories.

* Sound (overall tone production, tone color changes)

* Musicality (dynamics, phrasing, ability for the music to tell a narrative)

* Technical Proficiency (accuracy and comfortability of notes)

* Overall impression (personality, stage presence, appearance)

In the case of a tied result, the judges will discuss their decision.
